God, shut the door!
So often we ask God to open a door, make a way or part the sea, but sometimes what we need is for God to shut some doors. Unhealthy situations, sinful habits, unholy relationships, bad places, carnal mindsets etc. all prove to be dead weight in our lives - and are the kinds of things we need God to shut the door on. Sometimes we shut doors ourselves but the enemy tries to re-open them. Don't let him - instead - ask God to shut the door.
It's one thing for you to shut a door but its another thing for God to shut the door. When God shuts it even your enemy can't find the door. In fact, even we can't find it. When God shuts the door there "ain't no goin back" to play both sides of the fence. No reservations - let the doors stay shut! We'll weary ourselves trying to find the door!
How about this...? How about we start opening some real doors, like our homes and our churches to the move of the Holy Spirit? How about we let Holy Spirit into the little "domain" we have and let Him have His way? How about we pray and ask God to open the door to us preaching the gospel to the lost? Lord open the doors that allow your kingdom to come, Your will to be done.
Let God open doors for you instead of you trying to open them. And if you don't know which doors need to be shut ask God to reveal them. He'll show us our prejudices, jealousies, tendencies, anger issues, envyings and the like. We need God to shut the door on these things and deliver us.
God shut the doors in our lives that need to be shut for good and help us to not look back. We look forward to the doors ahead that You are opening. Your kingdom come!
